WHAT IS THE PLAINVIEW BAND?
6TH GRADE 'BEGINNER' BAND CLASS
This is the best time to begin your journey in music!
Beginner Band class is offered during the school day. In Beginner Band, band students will NOT regularly practice after-school. However, band students will be required to participate in 2 after-school concerts (December & May) to show off what they have learned in class!
Although not impossible, attempting to join after 6th grade puts more stress on the student as they will miss very critical and foundational instruction. In short, it's better for a student to give band a chance in the 6th grade to see if they enjoy playing an instrument.
